The pirates!
The Pirates!
On the one hot brooding summer day. On the old, dusty and not so bigger guava tree. Eating ungripped guavas. Tangling our feet from the strongest and heightened branch of the tree.
“Listen, one day I will go to space!” I told him.
He laughed at me, “You will not go there, definitely!”
“Let’s bet on this, one day I will be in the space. I will be on Mars and I will roam in the space. I will start working for NASA”
“Okay, let’s see but what if you lose?” He asked.
“I will give you 2000 rupees” I replied.
“I do not believe you, write this thing on the paper, do your signature and give me as proof”
“Okay, but you have to hide it in the safest place so, mom will not catch that!”
“Okay, I will hide it behind our TV set, one day when we will be a big man and when we will return here. we will see what will happen to you!”
That’s how he hides one of the most precious secrets of my life. Our Childhood is like a big, colorful, deep ocean. Full of adventures, fun, excitement. Everything is new for us. Our real-world limited to our home, school, playground but our imagination contained everything, fairies, giants, magical pencil, Hogwarts.
I was like a little pirate who had owned one big ship, which was challenging every wave, facing every situation, discovering new things and making the best memories for the life. Some of them are precious, some of them are bad and some of them are horrible!
But I was not alone on that beautiful journey, I was with a great crime partner, an adviser, a friend, a travel companion, I was with my brother from another mother, I was with,
‘Vraj Nileshkumar Shah’ aka ‘Dada’
‘Dada’ is the coolest, chill and the luckiest person I have ever seen in my life. Actually, by relation, He is my cousin but for my family, he is my husband, from my last birth and our whole family accepted this without any doubt.
In reality, he is more than this for me. I don’t have an exact memory that how I met him. I just remembered that one day I had shifted to my new home with my parents. A new, beautiful, bigger house than last one. It was like a
gift, he was one of the gifts too.
When we met each other. We both were in the different school. We were like two poles of the earth. I was aggressive, he was quiet. I was good in mathematics, he was good in mechanics. I was a topper in school, he was a topper in life. I wanted to play every day, he just wanted to sit at one place and do nothing. We were totally different from each other that’s why we have a great chemistry with each other.
He is a person with a strange habit of collecting everything from anywhere. His bag was a full-time mystery for everyone. From the small iron lock to different size and shape of stones to our first illegal iPod. His bag has more secrets than women’s heart.
From the childhood to our 10th class we had spent almost more than years with each other. The most memorable days in our life. We played, we fought, we planned, we roam, we talked, everything we did, we did it together. Though we were in the different schools, we actually got so much time with each other because we live in the same house.
Like our age our dreams were small and crazy, one of them was to go out from this place. At that Gandhinagar was dream city of us. Every summer we planned to go to my uncle’s place to meet our third musketeer. I still remember that on every last day of summer exam, we used to make a plan that who we would convince our parents, who we would go there, who would pick up us. Where we would go there from there instead of preparing for that exam.
We used to think one day there would be big whole behind the fridge and we would go to Gandhinagar in few seconds. We would go there play, roam and come back when the night would come.
So many mad things! I always laugh when I am remembering these kinds of stuff now. We all have one person in our childhood. A person because of whom your parents beat you so many times, a person who is better than you in video games and beat you every single time, a person who understands you without any words, A person who is not in your family but without him or her your family can not complete. A brother, a sister, a cousin, a nephew anyone.
Something had happened, which happened to every childhood stories. One day he took an admission in diploma college in Gandhinagar. In our dream city. I took a science stream. Our paths were diverted from that point. He stepped down from the ship of pirates. From there I could see the end that big, giant ocean.
Now, we are in the different places. We have new friends, we have different life. We are in the different situation. Slowly we aren’t talk with him much but still we are in touch.
We are not like a BFFs who have lots of photos with each other on social sites. We are not like that who call each other every day and tell each other how we are missing each other. We are not like that who gives costly birthday gifts on each other’s birthdays.
We are like that, who call each other randomly at random time. Who just travel 10-20 KM to drink ‘lassi’ on our ‘activa’. We are like that who just sit with each other at late night and talk about life. We are like that, who do not expect anything from each other.
The thing is that I don’t have to pretend that I am in relationship with him. I don’t have to do all melodrama to run this relationship. I don’t have to worry about that he will judge me or not. I can trust him with anything. That’s the best thing between us.
Still after so many months, I meet him finally when I came back to my home from Mumbai for Navaratri. He was looking at me so I Was too.
“So, how is the life of Engineering?” I asked him.
“@###$$^&%^%” He replied.
That’s how again the ice broken between us.
Fin.
